Jacokes Communications Acquires SMS

DETROIT, Mich., Aug. 29, 2007—Jacokes Communications, LLC, has acquired Services Marketing Specialists (SMS), a mainstay in the Detroit area for strategic marketing and public relations since 1989.

Founded by Marty Richardson, SMS is a full-service marketing and communications firm specializing in professional service and business-to-business markets. Richardson, who served as president, is known for her extensive community and civic involvement, and was named one of Michigan’s Most Influential Women by Crain’s Detroit Business in 2002.

“I’ve known Marty and worked collaboratively with her for many years,” said Jacokes. “I’ve always felt our organizations were compatible and complimentary.“

“I’m pleased that our clients—many of whom are of very long standing—will be well served by Diana’s organization, “ said Richardson. “I know our clients are in the very best of hands.”

Richardson will continue in a senior advisory capacity to Jacokes Communications.

Jacokes Communications, LLC, was founded in 1977 and has grown into an international communications agency providing creative resources and strategic counsel to a wide variety of clients. The transaction will be completed September 1, 2007.

To a new office, just around the corner

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Feb. 20 – Jacokes Communications is excited to announce the location of its new offices. The longtime communications firm now will set up shop at 36524 Grand River Ave. Suite B-3 in Farmington Hills, Michigan—just a stone’s throw away from its previous space.

“As a company grows and changes, it’s important that its surroundings can accommodate that,” said Diana Jacokes, president and owner of Jacokes Communications. “This move is most beneficial to us and our clients.”

Founded in 1977 by Jacokes, the company employs and places editors, writers, designers, photographers, webmasters, video producers, translators and strategists to provide clients with creative, cost-effective print, video and multimedia projects.
